Report: Appliance Manufacturing Up in January Feb 5, 2013

The Electrical Equipment, Appliances & Components manufacturing industry was one of 13 manufacturing industries reporting growth in January 2013, according to the latest Manufacturing ISM Report On Business.

The report showed that United States manufacturing economic activity expanded in January 2013, following expansion in December 2012 as well. The overall economy, as measured by the SM report, showed its 44th consecutive month of growth.

"Manufacturing is starting out the year on a positive note, with all five of the PMI's component indexes--new orders, production, employment, supplier deliveries, and inventories--registering above 50% in January," Holcomb said.
