GE Appliances' Profile French door refrigerator received a 2013 Good Housekeeping VIP (Very Innovative Products) Award. The award recognizes life-changing, time-saving inventions that solve everyday problems in new ways.
The Profile has the only refrigerator filtration system that removes 98% of five common pharmaceuticals, such as ibuprofen and progesterone, and an easy-access filter that makes it more likely consumers will change it on schedule.
The GE Profile refrigerator was chosen from more than 1,500 new products, evaluated by the Good Housekeeping Research Institute.
"We evaluate thousands of products in the Institute, and each year, a few stand out as true game-changers - products that make our lives easier, save time and money, or just make everyday tasks more fun - and the VIP Awards recognize those stand-outs for their innovation," said Rosemary Ellis, editor in chief of Good Housekeeping.
The 29-cubic-foot Profile refrigerator also includes a full-width, adjustable temperature-controlled drawer with five settings for meat, beverage, produce, cheese, and citrus and temperatures ranging from 32 degrees F to 40 degrees F.
