Kubota Tractor Corp. entered the residential zero-turn mower market in the United States, specifically addressing the premium market, with the retail launch of the Kubota Kommander ZG100-Series.
The 48-deck and 54-inch deck models are designed for homeowners who want professional-quality cut and luxury comfort features and options. The mowers were given a sleek design and LED headlights.
"The Kubota Kommander ZG100-Series is Kubota's debut into the residential zero-turn market, and we pulled out all the stops," said Christine Chapman, assistant turf products manager for Kubota. "A lot of the Kommander's features, like the low-profile tires and LED headlights, are similar to what you see on new luxury automobiles."
ZG124E and ZG127E model mowers in the line come with a 24-hp Briggs & Stratton Pro or 27-hp cyclonic commercial turf vertical shaft engine. ZG123S and ZG127S models have a 23-hp or 27-hp Kohler Courage Pro vertical shaft engine. The mowers are equipped with a commercial-grade hydro-gear ZT-3100 transmission and a 4.3 gallon fuel tank capacity.
The mower's deck is constructed of 10-gauge welded steel. The deck's 5-inch deep design and high blade tip speed is designed to provide more airflow through the blades and to enable a higher quality of cut at a faster rate and an even discharge of clippings. The company's K-Lift mechanical one-push deck lift pedal and dial cam allow the operator to adjust cutting heights in quarter inch increments from 1.5 inches to 4.5 inches.
