Frascold Opens Operations in India Dec 19, 2012

Italian air-conditioning and refrigeration components supplier Frascold has established an Indian manufacturing operation, according to a report from Desh Gujarat.

The company's new business unit is Frascold India Pvt. Ltd., which established a plant in Matoda, in Gujarat state, to produce condensing units. The media report said the plant has the capacity to produce 7500 units annually. The Italian parent company owns 51% of the new venture, with the rest owned by Indian investors.

The facility is reportedly a 17,000-square-foot plant assembling condensing units for air-cooled and water-cooled equipment, and makes models identical to those produced in the supplier's plant in Italy. Units are assembled from components imported from Italy. The supplier also has a warehouse in India that can store up to 2000 compressors.
