The Aeroball, a concept for helium-filled floating bubbles that clean and scent the air, was the first place winner of the 2012 Electrolux Design Lab. Aeroball (pictured) was designed by Jan Ankiersztajn, a student at the Uniwersytet Artystyczny w Poznaniu, Poland.

The winners of the 10th annual Electrolux Design Lab competition were announced at an event at the Triennale Design Museum in Milan on Oct. 25, 2012.

Second place went to second to Ben de la Roche from New Zealand for his concept for a refrigerated wall that allows the user to press storage containers and bottles directly into the wall. Impress uses thermo-acoustic technology and gases such as argon and helium that are non-ozone depleting and harmless to the environment.

Third place went to Tastee by Christopher Holm-Hansen, from Denmark. His design concept is a taste indicator in the form of a spoon, with sensors based on the human taste bud, to tell the user what ingredients might be used to improve their cooking.
