Canadian HVAC Shipments: Air Handlers Show Strong Quarter Oct 19, 2012

Air handling unit shipments in Canada showed the biggest gain of any product category in the second quarter of 2012, according to data from the Manufacturers Division of the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI).

* residential air-conditioning shipments were down 11%
* residential furnace shipments were up 7%
* commercial air-conditioning shipments were up 13%
* unit heater shipments were up 39%
* ductless split systems shipments were down 15%
* chiller bookings were up 1%
* air handling unit shipments were up 62%
