Major Appliance Customer Satisfaction Remains Stable Sep 27, 2012

The major appliance industry (washers, dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, ranges, and ovens) continued a long history of high customer satisfaction as reported in the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI).

The major appliance industry had an overall score of 81. ACSI said the industry has maintained solid customer satisfaction scores of 80 to 82 for most of the last two decades.

The report ranked Whirlpool No. 1, with a score up 1.2% to 83. Whirlpool has led or tied for first place every year since 1996.

But second place Electrolux was just 1 point behind at 82, and was up 5.1% from 2011.

General Electric was up 1.3% to 80.

ACSI's aggregate of smaller appliance producers (including producers such as LG, Samsung, Bosch, and others) was down 4.8% to 79. The report said rising import fees could be impacting customer satisfaction for these brands.
