U.S. production of major plastic resins were 6.5 billion pounds in July 2012, down 0.7% compared to July 2011, according to the American Chemistry Council (ACC). Year-to-date production was 43.8 billion pounds, a 0.1% decrease from the same period of 2011.
Sales and captive (internal) use of major plastic resins were 6.7 billion pounds in July 2012, up 5.8% from July 2011. Year-to-date sales and captive use was 43.9 billion pounds, up 1.8% from the same period of 2011.
