Indesit First-Half Sales Down Slightly Jul 27, 2012

Fabriano, Italy-based appliance maker Indesit Company had sales of EUR 1307 million in the first half of 2012, up from EUR 1322 million in the first half of 2011. Earnings (EBIT) were EUR 22 million in the first half of 2012, down from EUR 64 million in the first half of 2011.

Indesit said Western Europe industry shipments in the first half of 2012 were down 3.3%. the company said Eastern Europe industry shipments in the first half of 2012 were up 3.9%. Total European industry shipments in the half were down 1.1%.

Indesit said its sales in Western Europe in the first half of 2012 were EUR 792.1 million, down 3.7%. Its sales in Eastern Europe were EUR 446.4 million, up 4.6%. Its international sales were EUR 68.1 million, down 5.4%. It's total sales in the first half were EUR 1306.5 million, down 1.1%.
