Hitachi Air Conditioning Europe SAS is now manufacturing its Set Free flexible air-conditioning systems at its factory in Spain.

Hitachi said it made a "considerable" investment in an assembly line and new machinery for production of the Set Free line. The company said the full line will now be manufactured at the plant in Spain, including a uniquely modular model FSXN VRF, which can either a 2- or 3-pipe unit in its standard model. The line also features DC inverter technology, cold draft prevention, low noise, long pipe runs, and a variety of control options.

The new production capability in Spain will also allow for manufacturing of the Hitachi FSXN2 and FSXN2H VRF units, scheduled to launch in Europe in 2013. Both the new systems will retain the unique 2- or 3-pipe option. The FSXN2H is currently the highest performing Annual Performance Factor (APF) VRF system on the Japanese market.

By manufacturing in Spain, Hitachi said it is able to provide a fast response to customers in the European marketplace, along with better delivery times. "Both Hitachi's products and its supply chain in Europe are highly competitive and offer quality and value for money," said David Oldroyd, Vice President and Managing Director of Hitachi Air Conditioning Europe SAS.
