Electrolux donated $140,000 in room air-conditioning units to the Crisis Assistance Ministry to aid residents of Charlotte, NC, who were impacted by unprecedented weather conditions in the area. The July 6 donation provided 940 units to the agency for immediate distribution to the neediest members in the community.
"We are committed to giving back to Charlotte and to supporting those who are at real risk from the recent high temperatures," said Jack Truong, president and CEO of Electrolux Major Appliances North America. "Our air-conditioning units will provide immediate, local relief."
Electrolux sells the air-conditioning units under its Frigidaire brand name. Electrolux's North American business has been headquartered in Charlotte for the last two years.
