New Report Forecasts Slower Growth for Machine Vision

The world market for machine vision was worth nearly $2.9 billion in 2011, and global machine vision revenues grew more than 10% in 2011, according to recent data from IMS Research.

However, the research firm does not expect this growth to be sustained in the coming years. Growth is expected to be restricted by instability in many economies, including Euro-currency economies.

Despite a good recovery from the recession, the machine vision industry. "However, revenue growth showed signs of slowing in the second half of 2011," said report author John Morse. "Many manufacturers expressed caution about growth in 2012 and beyond."
