Electroindustry Business Confidence Still Positive Jul 3, 2012

NEMA's Electroindustry Business Confidence Index (EBCI) for current North American conditions was 52.4 in June 2012, down from 54.2 in May 2012.

The association said the index was down by more than 20 points from its post-recession peak in February. In February 2012, the index experienced an 18-point jump to hit 72.5, its highest mark in more than six years.

Although the index has pulled back since February, June nevertheless marked the ninth consecutive month that the index indicates an environment that is conducive to industry growth.

The index for future North American conditions was lower in June for the third month in a row. The EBCI for future conditions was 57.1 in June, down almost 14 points from May.
