HPBA Names Ali Director of Government Affairs Jun 27, 2012

The Hearth, Patio & Barbecue Association (HPBA) appointed Richard Ali to be its Director of Government Affairs starting July 2, 2012. Ali was formerly with the lobbying firm Capital Action Network.

"Rich's extensive background in lobbying, federal legislative and regulatory activities, and codes and standards is exactly what we were looking for to head our government affairs department," said Jack Goldman, president and CEO of HPBA. "We are currently involved in several regulatory challenges and his experience will help us immensely."

He will head up the department staff of four.

Ali's past experience includes positions as director of government affairs at The Irrigation Association, the National Spa & Pool Institute, and the National Association of the Remodeling Industry, as well as director of political affairs at the Associated Builders & Contractors.
