Sharp Names Osawa Chairman/CEO of SEC, Names Polega VP, Solar Energy Solutions Jun 22, 2012

Toshiyuki Osawa was recently named CEO and chairman of the board of Sharp Electronics Corp. (SEC), the U.S. subsidiary of Sharp Corp. He was also named Executive Officer, Group General Manager, North & South America Group, Sharp Corp.

Mr. Osawa replaces Kozo Takahashi, who has transferred to a new Sharp Corp. assignment as Executive Vice President and Chief Officer, Sales and Marketing; and Group General Manager, Global Business Group.

Osawa spent 27 years with Sharp Corp., most recently as president of Sharp Electronics Sales (China) Co. This will be Osawa's second assignment in the United States. From 1996 - 2003, he served as part of the management team of Sharp Electronics Corporation's Consumer Electronics group.

Sharp Electronics Corp. (SEC) named Tim Polega vice president of its Solar Energy Solutions Group (SESG), a division of SEC. Polega is responsible for all U.S. sales and marketing of the company's solar energy products and solutions.

Polega is a solar and renewable energy industry veteran with a successful track record in solar project development. Most recently, he served as director of Sharp's Solar Energy Solutions Group where he lead projects and structured joint ventures with developers to finance and build utility scale solar farms.
