First Appliance Launched With Jarden's Ball Brand Jun 14, 2012

Jarden Home Brands' Ball Brand, best known for its iconic glass jars and other products for preserving food, has been extended to electric appliances for the first time with the Ball Brand FreshTech Automatic Jam & Jelly Maker.

An April 2012 survey commissioned by Jarden Home Brands showed that 77% of consumers plan to incorporate more fresh fruit into day-to-day cooking and eating habits. The survey showed many consumers want to make their own jams and jellies but lack the confidence to try. In fact, 82% of respondents said they thought it took over two hours to create fresh jam.

Jarden developed the FreshTech to enable home cooks to make jams and jellies in less than 30 minutes. SmartStir Technology constantly stirs the batch to prevent overcooking and burning.

The new appliance is now available at an online retail price of about $100.
