Sharp Streamlines Appliance Distribution in the U.S. Apr 5, 2012

Sharp Electronics Marketing Company of America (SEMCA), a division of Sharp Electronics Corp., is consolidating its distribution network serving the independent retail channel to two distributors.

SEMCA's Health & Environmental Solutions group will focus all its distribution on distributors ALMO Corp., in Philadelphia, PA and Climatic Corp., in Columbia, SC.

"Sharp is excited to align with the industry's two leading appliance distributors," said Chris Hogan, vice president of sales for Sharp's Health & Environmental Solutions group. "All Sharp dealers can now take advantage of the strong sales and highly automated logistic capabilities offered by ALMO and Climatic."

ALMO will expand from its current Sharp territory in the Northeast to a nearly national footprint, coast to coast, serving every state outside of the Southeast with the exception of Hawaii.

Climatic Home Products' will assist Sharp with the Southeast.
