Registration is now open for the 2013 iF Product Design Awards.

The iF Awards are organized by the iF International Forum Design, an arm of iF Industrie Forum Design. The awards recognize international excellence in the field of design and technology. Products are evaluated by an iF panel of judges composed of designers from around the world.

The first-ever iF Gold Award earned by a home appliance went to Whirlpool Corp. in 2012. Whirlpool earned an iF Gold Design Award in the product design category for its iXelium cooktop. Hundreds of other appliances earned other iF design awards in 2012 and throughout the six decades of the awards.

Winners are selected in four categories:
* product design
* communication design
* materials
* packaging design
