Twelve housewares companies were winners of the first annual IHA Innovation Awards, presented on March 10 at the opening of the 2012 International Home + Housewares Show.
Winner in the Floor + Carpet Care segment was Rowenta, a brand of Groupe SEB USA, for the Rowenta Delta Force Stick Vacuum. The 18-volt unit has an extended rechargeable battery capacity paired with an efficient motor, designed to give the unit a run-time as high as 40 minutes.
The winner in the Kitchen Electrics category was Jura Capresso, for its Jura Impressa J9 One Touch TFT. It is the first model in the line with the a new 3.5-inch TFT color display, combining graphics and text to showcase the type of beverage, number of ounces, coffee strength, and amount of milk. The screen is designed to make it easier for users to personalize their brew.
The winner in the Personal Care + Home Healthcare category was Veridian Healthcare for its iBaby Monitoring System. The video monitor automatically adjusts to follow baby movements, and up to four users can access the monitor remotely via PC or iPhone/iPad.
The 2012 International Home + Housewares Show wraps up March 13, in Chicago.
