Primo Water will give retailers a first-look at the new Freedom Sparkling System (FSS) technology at the Home & Housewares Show in Chicago. The technology is included in the new Flavorstation line of carbonated beverage appliances. The technology lets consumers control the intensity of carbonation in their beverages. Also showcased at the Housewares show will be FSS Turbo Technology, which enables sparkling level customization while doubling the CO2 utilization from storage cylinders.

Primo Water and development partner Sparkling Drink Systems - Innovation Center will exhibit the appliances at the International Home & Housewares Show in Chicago, March 10th to 13th, 2012. The Primo and SDS line will include six new home beverage carbonation products, resulting in a lineup of 70 appliances, including multi- and single-serve options to address various retail channels and domestic and international distribution.

"We believe we will achieve success in the launch of a new Home Beverage Category by offering consumers great tasting, all-natural flavors, at the lowest possible price per drink," said Billy Prim, chairman and CEO of Primo Water. "Consumers are always looking for ways to save money, especially during difficult economic times, and when they can customize beverages at home with the same taste profile as leading branded soft drinks at a lower cost, that's a winning proposition."

"Both Primo and SDS consider large branded Carbonated Soft Drink (CSD) companies as our direct competition and therefore the challenge is to offer our Flavorstation soft drinks for less than 20 cents per can, which we believe delivers a very compelling value," said Serge Bueno, chairman and CEO of SDS. He said the appliances will retail from about $40 to $300.
