Fast food chain Del Taco achieved more efficient operations when it installed TT-500 kitchen timers from FAST, a Kitchen Brains company. The LCD touch screen timer for the foodservice industry positively impacted operations across a spectrum of kitchen tasks.

"We now have the ability to program automatic alerts or reminders that target specific tasks within our restaurants," said Stacy Marler, the chain's senior director of quality assurance and food safety. "Whether it's a reminder for our employees to wash their hands or filter the oil, the alerts help us manage our kitchens better."

"Del Taco needed a fast and easy way to regularly update timers to support their menu vision," said Eric Raderer of Kitchen Brains. He explained that the timer offers unlimited timing capacity and automated 'store alerts' for specific, predetermined events. It can also be updated easily with a USB flashdrive.

"The ability to update timers via USB port allows us to ensure that they are standardized across the brand," said Marler. "Our training department has also benefitted. We are able to easily upload our build cards into the system, making it easy for employees to access a library of digitized build cards as a quick reference of each ingredient in a product build."

Del Taco has 530 restaurants in 17 states, which serve more than three million customers each week.
