U.S. production of major plastic resins in full-year 2011 was 75.1 billion pounds, down 0.4% from 2010, according to statistics from the American Chemistry Council (ACC). U.S. production of major plastic resins was 6.2 billion pounds in December 2011, down 0.3% from December 2010.

Sales and captive (internal) use of major plastic resins in full-year 2011 was 75.4 billion pounds, up 1.0% compared to 2010. Sales and captive use of major plastic resins was 6.6 billion pounds in December 2011, down 9.3% from December 2010.
