U-Line, maker of premium built-in ice making, refrigeration, and wine preservation products, is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2012. Henry Uihlein, Sr. developed and patented the first automatic undercounter ice maker for residential use in 1962. The third generation of the Uihlein family still runs the company, including President Jennifer Uihlein Straszewski.
"We're extremely proud to reach this milestone," said Jennifer Uihlein, granddaughter of Henry Uihlein, Sr. "Throughout our history, U-Line's growth has been fueled by our desire to continue offering innovative design solutions with exceptional functionality, style and selection for every lifestyle. My grandfather was committed to providing innovative, compelling, high-quality products and unparalleled customer service. We pledge to continue that legacy in our next half-century."
The company is launching a new line of modular undercounter refrigeration units, which it sees as a continuation of the innovative products that launched the company. The Modular 3000 Series offer adjustable doors, toe-kicks, and concealed hinges for integration into almost any cabinet design. The series offers highly customizable temperature settings for storing meats and cheeses, produce, dry goods, and even root vegetables at ideal temperatures for maximum preservation. The series is designed to allow foods and beverages to be placed where they're used most.
The series also offers four temperature settings for precise beverage refrigeration and maximum preservation. Water, soda, or white, red or sparkling wines can be stored at their ideal temperatures. A quick chill function rapidly cools food and beverages to a desired setting.
