IPC Expands Data Exchange Standards Series to Aid Environmental Compliance Jan 24, 2012

Electronics Industry association IPC is expanding its series of data exchange standards to meet industry’s growing compliance needs. The new IPC 2-18g Declaration of Batteries and Battery Materials and the IPC 2-18j Declaration of Chemical Analysis Lab Reports Task Groups will begin development of standards to aid in the exchange of information on batteries and lab reports, respectively.

IPC’s series of data exchange standards assists companies in exchanging information on the materials in their products. Battery declaration standard will help companies facilitate communication of information related to regulatory compliance and conformance with customer requirements pertaining to battery chemistry, weight, and category.

Companies in the electronics manufacturing supply chain are invited to attend committee meetings at IPC APEX EXPO 2012, February 28–March 1, in San Diego.
