Craftsman Exhibits Garage Connectivity at Consumer Electronics Show Jan 10, 2012

Sears' Craftsman brand – best known for hand and power tools – is exhibiting garage interconnectivity at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week.

Assurelink Gateway technology is incorporated into new garage door openers to let homeowners monitor and operate their garage door from anywhere using a smartphone, computer, or tablet. Users can check open/close status and then operate the garage door as desired, from anywhere in the world. Users can remotely control entry to the home when not present.

The Craftsman brand is also exhibiting the Assurelink Remote Light Control, a plug-in light control for table and floor lamps, and the Assurelink Remote Light Switch, an installed light switch. When paired with the Craftsman Assurelink internet gateway, they allow users to operate household lighting using a smartphone, computer, or tablet.
