The Electroindustry Business Confidence Index (EBCI) for current North American conditions fell from 56 in November to 52 in December 2011, but December marked the third month of an over-50 index, according to trade association NEMA. A 50-point-or-higher index indicates that more respondents reported conditions improved relative to the previous month than reporting a decline in conditions.
December’s EBCI for future North American conditions rose 10 points to 70, reaching its highest mark in December 2011 since May 2011.
