U.S. production of major plastic resins was 6.0 billion pounds in October 2011, down 5.4% from October 2010, according to statistics from the American Chemistry Council (ACC). Year-to-date production was 62.9 billion pounds, a 0.5% decrease from the first 10 months of 2010.
Sales and captive (internal) use of major plastic resins were 6.1 billion pounds in October 2011, down 0.9% from October 2010. Year-to-date sales and captive use was 62.4 billion pounds, down 0.2% from 2010.
