Shipments of Electrical Equipment, Appliances, and Components were at a seasonally adjusted value of $10,203 million in October 2011, down 0.7% from $10,280 million in September 2011, according to advanced figures from the U.S. Census Bureau.
Seasonally adjusted October New Orders in the appliances category were valued at $10,127 million, down 5.2% from $10,686 million in September.
Seasonally adjusted October Unfilled Orders in the appliances category were valued at $26,615 million, down 0.3% from $26,691 million in September.
Seasonally adjusted October Total Inventories in the appliances category were valued at $15,443 million, up 0.6% from $15,356 million in September.
Shipments of all manufactured durable goods in October in the United States up five of the last six months, increased $2.6 billion or 1.3% to $203.0 billion. This followed a 0.5% September decrease.
