Smartphones, computer tablets, and e-readers are high on the list of holiday must haves for women age 50+, who are become more tech-savvy overall, according to a new study from VibrantNation and Silvers Summit.

Key findings of the study on women age 55+:
• 32% acquired an iPad or tablet computer in the past year
• 59% of those who don’t have a tablet want one
• of those with an e-reader, 66% have a Kindle
• 46% have used iTunes to buy music
• two-thirds of 55+ women own a smartphone; 54% bought a new smartphone in the last year
• of smartphone users, 45% downloaded 10 or more apps in the last year
• 34% use their smartphone or table to read bar codes (Quick Response or QR codes)
• 78% text with adult children
• 31% video chat with their children
