A new, free iPhone app gives consumers access to recipes, shopping lists, and instructions for the GE Advantium External link Speedcook oven.
The Advantium is designed to cook food up to eight times faster than a conventional oven and the new app is designed to give the user quick access to cooking times, conversion recommendations, and preparation tips. Videos help users create their own recipes using the Speedcook controls. The app integrates with the timer on the iPhone to provide user alerts.
"If you wanted to put a tenderloin in the oven and go out in the yard, the alarm on your iPhone will tell you when the food is ready," said Irene Newsom, GE's program manager for the new application.
