Report: North American Electroindustry Improves in October
The Electroindustry Business Confidence Index (EBCI) from industry association NEMA showed conditions facing the North American electroindustry improved overall in October, climbing from 50 in September to 57.4 in October.
October was the first month since May 2011 to see the index rise above the 50-point “growth threshold.”
NEMA said:
• Nearly 30% of those surveyed reported improved conditions in October over September
• fewer than 15% experienced worse conditions.
In September, 20% of those surveyed reported conditions improved and the same percentage, 20%, reported conditions deteriorated.
The index for future North American conditions moved higher for the second month, up from 58.3 in September to 63 in October:
