A. Schulman, an international supplier of high-performance plastic compounds and resins, reported full-year net income of $41.0 million in its fiscal year ended Aug. 31, 2011, down from $43.9 million.
In the fourth quarter the company reported net income of $5.9 million, compared with $7.9 million in the same period last year. Reported gross profit for the fourth quarter was $71.0 million, an increase of $11.5 million from the gross profit of $59.5 million a year ago.
Net sales increased 37.5% to $2.2 billion in fiscal 2011, compared with $1.6 billion in fiscal 2010.
