Office equipment retailers Office Depot, Inc. reported third quarter 2011 sales of $2.8 billion, down 2% from the third quarter of 2010.
Net earnings were $92 million, compared to $32 million in 3Q 2010. Disregarding one-off charges and benefits, the company would have had a net loss of about $700,000.
“I’m pleased with the traction we’re getting in our North American businesses despite a lackluster U.S. economy,” said Neil Austrian, Office Depot chairman and CEO.
