TVs and Disc Players Continue Giving Customer Satisfaction Sep 21, 2011

Customer satisfaction across three durable goods industries stalled in 2011, with the majority of companies staying almost exactly where they were in 2010, according to a report out today from the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI).

The publications reports on customer satisfaction with:
• personal computers
• major appliances
• consumer electronics (televisions and disc players)

Video Electronics' High Scores Continue

Customer satisfaction with televisions and Blu-ray Disc (BD) and DVD players was unchanged in 2011, scoring 85 points, as it did in 2010. This is the highest overall industry score among the 47 industries ranked by ACSI. Consumer perceptions of high quality and lower prices for TVs and BD players contribute customer satisfaction.

“Customers are upgrading to TVs that provide better picture quality, more features, and save space, while the BD format is becoming more widely available and affordable. Clearly, customers are pleased with what this industry has to offer them,” said Claes Fornell, founder of the ACSI.
