Electronics and Appliance Stores Retail Sales Up in August Sep 16, 2011

Adjusted, advance estimates of U.S. retail sales at Electronics and Appliance Stores were $8,287 million in August 2011, up from $7,889 million in July but down from $8,449 million in August 2010. The figures are reported by the U.S. Census Bureau.

Overall adjusted, advance estimates of U.S. retail and food services sales for August 2011 were $389.5 billion, almost unchanged from the previous month and 7.2% above August 2010.

Advance estimates of U.S. retail and food services sales are adjusted for seasonal variation and holiday and trading-day differences, but not for price changes.
