Eastman Kodak Company (Rochester, NY, U.S.), maker of digital cameras and other consumer electronics devices, reported continued momentum in its core digital growth businesses in 2Q, but also saw higher raw material costs. Second-quarter sales were $1.485 billion, down 5% from 2Q 2010.
Digital revenue was $1.089 billion, consistent with the year-ago quarter. Revenue from its digital growth businesses – Consumer and Commercial Inkjet, Packaging Solutions, and Workflow Software & Services – was up 22%.
Revenue from Kodak's Consumer Digital Imaging Group decreased 8%, reflecting planned lower sales of digital cameras, as it implements a strategy to trade top-line growth for improved full-year profitability.
2Q revenue from Kodak's Film, Photofinishing and Entertainment Group was down 14%.
