Samsung Expects Lower 2Q Sales, Profits Jul 8, 2011

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (Seoul) announced its earnings guidance for the second quarter, 2011, saying it expects consolidated sales to be approximately 39 trillion Korean won (approx. US$36.7 billion). Consolidated operating profit is expected to be approximately 3.7 trillion won.

These results would show decreases from the second quarter of 2010, then sales were 37.89 trillion won and profit was 5.01 trillion won.

Sales in first quarter 2011 were 36.99 trillion won with an operating profit of 2.95 trillion won.
