More than 75% of people who entertain at home prefer the more laidback approach and spacious feeling they get from entertaining outside, according to a new NPD report.
The top outdoor entertainment consumer staples:
· outdoor furniture
· gas barbecue grills
· plastic (non-disposable) tableware
· outdoor lighting
Lawn care and gardening are also top priorities for homeowners who entertain outside, who put much emphasis on preparing their outdoor entertaining space. About a quarter of consumers who take their home entertaining outside tell NPD that they prepare the outside space by power washing and by purchasing themed or decorative items.
