World crude steel production for the 64 countries reporting to the World Steel Association was 130 million metric tons (mmt) in May 2011, up 4.2% than in May 2010.
The world crude steel capacity utilization ratio of the 64 countries in May 2011 was 81.7%, which was 0.6% lower than in April 2011 and also 0.6% lower than May 2010.
