Panasonic Corp. established it's first R&D center in India. The Panasonic Research & Development Center India (PRDCI) is located in Gurgaon in the northern state of Haryana. The center will conduct R&D tailored to local needs.
Panasonic has been enhancing its presence in India with an enhanced product lineup and marketing structure and the opening of a B-to-B showroom. It also plans to build a manufacturing facility, Panasonic Techno Park, in Jhajjar, Haryana, in the fiscal year ending March 2013.
PRDCI will perform locally oriented R&D and promote technologies and their standardization that are deemed essential for making inroads into the Indian market through collaboration with local universities and industrial partners.
