U.S. Appliance Retail Store Sales Up in March Apr 22, 2011

The U.S. Census Bureau reported that adjusted Electronics & Appliance Store sales in March 2011 were $8,759 million, up slightly from the $8,581 million reported for February 2011 and from $8,456 million in January 2011. March 2011 sales were also up slightly from the $8,749 million reported in March 2010.

Adjusted Electronics & Appliance Store sales for the first quarter of 2011 were reported to be $24,242 million, up 0.1% over the first quarter of 2010.

Estimates of sales are adjusted for seasonal variation and holiday and trading-day differences, but not for price changes.
