The Air Movement and Control Association (AMCA) International, Inc. is seeking volunteers to serve on various AMCA Standard Review Committees.

Standard 204, Balance Quality and Vibration Levels for Fans, is being recommended for reaffirmation by the AMCA Air Movement Division. This standard addresses the subjects of fan balance and vibration and defines appropriate fan balance quality and operating vibration levels to individuals who specify, manufacture, use, and maintain fans.

Standard 210, Laboratory Methods of Testing Fans for Certified Aerodynamic Performance Rating, a joint AMCA/ASHRAE standard, is scheduled to be revised in 2011. This standard establishes uniform test methods for a laboratory test of a fan or other air moving device to determine its aerodynamic performance in terms of airflow rate, pressure developed, power consumption, air density, speed of rotation, and efficiency for rating or guarantee purposes.

Standard 220, Laboratory Methods of Testing Air Curtain Units for Aerodynamic Performance Rating, is being recommended for reaffirmation by the AMCA Air Movement Division. This standard establishes uniform methods for laboratory testing of air curtain units to determine aerodynamic performance in terms of airflow rate, outlet air velocity uniformity, power consumption, and air velocity projection.

Standard 240, Laboratory Methods of Testing Positive Pressure Ventilators for Aerodynamic Performance Rating, is being recommended for reaffirmation by the AMCA Air Movement Division. This standard establishes a uniform method of laboratory testing for the determination of the aerodynamic performance of a positive pressure ventilator (PPV) in terms of airflow rate, pressure, air density and rotational speed, for performance rating or guarantee purposes.

Standard 250, Laboratory Methods of Testing Jet Tunnel Fans for Performance, is being recommended for reaffirmation by the AMCA Air Movement Division. This standard deals with the determination of those technical characteristics needed to describe all aspects of the performance of jet tunnel fans.

Standard 260, Laboratory Methods of Testing Induced Flow Fans for Rating, is scheduled to be revised in 2011. This standard establishes a uniform laboratory method for determining an induced flow fan's aerodynamic performance in terms of airflow rate, pressure developed, power consumption, air density, speed of rotation, and efficiency.

Standard 330, Laboratory Method of Testing to Determine the Sound Power in a Duct, is being recommended by the AMCA Air Movement Division for replacement by the adoption of ISO 5136, Acoustics — Determination of sound power radiated into a duct by fans and other air-moving devices — In-duct method. ISO 5136 describes a procedure for the measurement of sound pressure levels in the inlet or outlet ducts of a fan and a method to use these sound pressure levels to calculate the sound power levels radiated by the fan to the duct system

Standard 610, Laboratory Methods of Testing Airflow Measurement Stations for Performance Rating, is being recommended for reaffirmation by the AMCA Airflow Measurement Station Division. This standard establishes uniform test methods for the determination of the performance characteristics and accuracy of airflow measurement stations under varied airflow rates and conditions.

Interested parties should contact John Pakan (jpakan@amca.org), at AMCA headquarters by March 15, 2011.
