AHAM Names Director of Government Affairs Jan 21, 2011

Kevin Washington joined the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) as director of Government Affairs. Washington will lead AHAM’s advocacy in the U.S. and Canada, and will support AHAM’s advocacy of the home appliance industry before Congress. He will report to Kevin Messner, AHAM’s vice president of Government Relations.

“Kevin comes to AHAM with substantial strategic and political experience in public policy as well as working with state governments, the U.S. Congress, and federal agencies. We look forward to Kevin leading AHAM’s advocacy efforts for the home appliance industry in the states,” Messner stated.

In his most recent government service, Washington served at the Federal Communications Commission as director of the Office of Legislative Affairs. Washington’s prior experience includes senior roles in the executive branch and several years in the U.S. House of Representatives’ leadership.
