TÜV Rheinland Named EPA Certification Body for Energy Star Dec 28, 2010

TÜV Rheinland of North America was recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a certification body (CB) for the new Energy Star Enhanced Testing and Verification program.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2011, Energy Star will require all newly qualified products in all Energy Star product categories to have their energy performance validated by an EPA-recognized third-party certification body prior to product labeling. The new Energy Star third-party certification requirements differ from previous requirements, as manufacturers will no longer have the ability to self-declare their products and will be required to have products certified by an EPA-accepted third-party.
