U.S. production of major plastic resins totaled 6.4 billion lb in October 2010, an increase of 2.3% over October 2009, according to statistics from the American Chemistry Council (ACC). Year-to-date production was 63.3 billion pounds, up 4.3% increase compared over the same period in 2009.
Sales and captive (internal) use of major plastic resins was 6.2 billion lb in October 2010, an increase of 0.9% from October 2009. Year-to-date sales and captive use was 62.6 billion lb, a 3.5% increase over January through October 2009.
