Miele Vacuums Earn Good Housekeeping Seal Nov 17, 2010

Miele, which developed the first HEPA-certified vacuum cleaner, earned the Good Housekeeping Seal on its entire line of vacuum cleaners for the U.S. market.

Good Housekeeping's September 2010 issue includes a report on lab test results for the Miele S7 Bolero vacuum (pictured). The report said it "captured dust particles best without releasing most back into the air. It's also an ace floor sweeper and pet-hair picker-upper. The combo of deep cleaning and super filtration means that even the most dust-sensitive can breathe easier."

"In vacuums, HEPA filtration is key to keeping captured irritants out of the air," said Carolyn Forte, director of the Home Appliances and Cleaning Products Lab at the Good Housekeeping Research Institute. "But a machine's design is a factor too, which is why we tested vacuums for overall filtration."

The Good Housekeeping Research Institute tests consumer products and awards its seal, which provides consumers Good Housekeeping's two-year limited warranty.
