A new Miele commercial freshwater dishwasher has an 85°C final rinse temperature to meet higher hygiene requirements, and reducing bacteria levels to a greater degree than many other dishwashers.

The Hygiene model is designed for applications where large numbers of people convene and the risk of illnesses spreading is increased. Containing the spread of bacteria is achieved by elevating the temperature in the final rinse, combined with a contact time of between 1 and 10 minutes to meet individual needs.

Miele offered the Hygiene as a limited edition appliance, available until the end of September 2010.

This model works on Miele's exclusive freshwater approach, which guarantees a complete replacement of water between cycle stages. The OEM said that commercial tank washers are faster, but do not achieve the same hygiene standards as this new freshwater model.

Ideal applications for the dishwasher are homes and institutions requiring a higher level of hygiene combined with short program cycles, such as kindergartens, day care centers, old folks' homes, and convalescent homes.
