A solar heating device that can be used as a stand-alone forced air heating system or in conjunction with an existing forced air furnace is being developed by Go Solar USA. The company recently acquired the rights to use the technology and expects to market systems to heat commercial or residential spaces during cold weather.

The technology uses a series of glass heat concentration tubes acting as solar heat collectors. Each tube contains a copper or other heat conducting core that carries the concentrated heat energy from the sun to a plenum, where cool air is exposed to the heat concentrator; heat is transferred from the heat concentrator to the cool air, producing warm air for heating purposes.
