A. Schulman, Inc., supplier of high-performance plastic compounds and resins, named Derek Bristow (pictured) general manager and chief operating officer of Asia, effective Sept. 1, 2010. Bristow will lead Asian business development and report to Joseph M. Gingo, chairman, president, and CEO.
Bristow formerly was General Manager, of ICO Australasia, for ICO, Inc., which was acquired by A. Schulman on April 30, 2010. Bristow has 25 years of experience in the global polymer industry.
Bristow replaces Jack Taylor, former general manager, Asia for A. Schulman, who is retiring at the end of the year, after 32 years with the company. Taylor will remain a consultant to the company and will assist Bristow in combining ICO and A. Schulman Asian businesses.
