U.S. production of major plastic resins totaled 6.2 billion pounds in April 2010, up 0.1% compared to the same month in 2009, according to statistics from the American Chemistry Council (ACC). Year-to-date production was 24.8 billion pounds, a 7.4% increase compared to the same period in 2009.
Sales and captive (internal) use of major plastic resins totaled 5.9 billion pounds in April 2010, a decrease of 4.5%. Year-to-date sales and captive use was 24.3 billion pounds, a 5.8% increase compared to the same period in 2009.
